- He surprisingly spoke very fluent English.
- He told Faye his heartbreaking story.
Netizen Faye Ares posted a photo of an old man she helped on May 7, 2017. While she was strolling around the mall and deciding whether to eat at Chowking or Jollibee, an old man approached him and asked if she could give him something to eat. She was surprised as the stranger spoke to her fluently in English.
“Miss, I’m sorry but I have to tell you something. Please don’t get mad. And Sorry to bother you but I’m not gonna ask for money, I’ll be asking for food to eat ‘coz I’m hungry,” the old man told her. Despite being a stranger, she still helped him and led him to Jollibee. She was glad to see how happy the stranger was when she agreed.
She asked the old man to look for an available table as she ordered the food. The man was relieved when she came back with the food as he thought that she left.
The old man is named Jansen Locsin. According to him, he’s 70 years old and has two sisters. His father is already deceased but his mother is still alive. He was in Cebu to run his business. Unfortunately, it went belly up, leaving him bankrupt. He was a graduate of Ateneo de Manila University and was teaching in UP and Ateneo.
After eating, Faye handed him a bottle of water and a hundred pesos which Locsin refused to accept. Faye insisted so he reluctantly accepted. They bid farewell to each other and went their separate ways.
